Welcome to the Huron Valley Pony Club. We are an active member in the Great Lakes Region Pony Club with 14 members coming from the surrounding towns of Washtenaw County Michigan. We hold monthly mounted and unmounted meetings where members are taught vital skills of safe horse management and riding skills. Huron Valley Pony Club is open to anyone who is interested in learning more about their pony or horse by increasing their riding skills, and meeting others with similar interests. Ownership of a pony or horse is not required for the horse management track. For riders pursuing a riding track, access to a pony or horse would be necessary. There are a variety of different disciplines offered through Pony Club for members to choose from. Dressage, eventing, show jumping, tetrathlon, mounted games, quiz, foxhunting and western. All Pony Club members are encouraged to work their way through the stages of the progressive Standards of Proficiency, which test knowledge and riding ability. Many Olympians and world equestrian riders gained their foundational experience as a Pony Clubber, you could have the same experience too! We are waiting to hear from YOU at Huron Valley Pony Club, come visit us and see what the fun is all about!
The mission of the United States Pony Club is to provide a program for youth that teaches riding, mounted sports, and the care of horses and ponies, thereby developing responsibility, moral judgment, leadership and self-confidence. We at Huron Valley Pony Club are committed to this mission, and the youth that come our way. We hope you will decide to become a part of our club.
